Network & Systems Administrator Engineer

We are seeking a Network and Systems Engineer to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of our IT systems. The role involves managing and optimizing network infrastructure, maintaining computer hardware and software, applying system updates and security patches, and diagnosing and resolving technical issues to support uninterrupted business operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN systems.
• Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure reliable connectivity across all sites.
• Troubleshot network outages, connectivity issues, and performance degradation.
• Assist in network upgrades, migrations, and expansions to improve performance and capacity.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Perform hardware diagnostics and repair or replace faulty components.
• Install and update operating systems, drivers, and authorized software.
• Ensure antivirus protection, security patches, and system updates are applied.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, unauthorized access, and malware threats.
• Implement and enforce cybersecurity and physical security procedures in line with company policies.
• Provide technical support and helpdesk assistance to resolve user issues promptly.
• Maintain shared IT resources such as file sharing, printing services, and user access permissions.
• Prepare and maintain records of maintenance activities, configurations, incidents, and reports.

Skills and qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology (IT)

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in network operations, system administration, and infrastructure security.

Proven track record in managing enterprise network systems and resolving complex technical issues.

Certifications:

Professional certifications such as CCNA and CCNP (Cisco), Fortinet NSE4 and NSE6 certifications are highly preferred.

Competencies

Technical: Strong proficiency in network configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and system optimization.

Core: Solid understanding of IT security principles, operational discipline, and proactive problem-solving.

Behavioral: Excellent teamwork, communication, and analytical skills; demonstrates reliability, accountability, and adaptability in high-pressure environments.
