and committed Communications Intern who demonstrates a strong interest in
humanitarian and development work, with emerging skills in communications,
media, and documentation. The intern will support the organization in
strengthening program visibility, developing communication materials, and
promoting the impact of AAIS initiatives across different platforms. The Role: The Communications Intern will support the documentation,
visibility, and promotion of AAIS programmes by collecting human-interest
stories, case studies, and multimedia content that highlight project impact,
while documenting lessons learned and best practices for donor and partner
reporting. The role will assist in preparing newsletters, press releases,
reports, and other communication materials, ensuring donor visibility and
branding requirements are met across all outputs and field activities. The
Intern will also support media engagement, advocacy initiatives, and the coordination
of press briefings and events, while managing digital communications through
the organization’s website and social media platforms to enhance outreach and
engagement. In addition, the position will maintain communication databases and
calendars, monitor digital analytics, support the production of graphics and
other digital content, and provide administrative and coordination support to
ensure effective internal and external communications. Skills and qualifications Qualification & Experience Education, experience & technical competencies. · Bachelor’s degree
in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development, or
a related field. · 1–2 years’
experience (including internships or volunteering) in communications within the
NNGO/INGO or development sector. · Proven experience
in writing, editing (reports, newsletters, blogs, media briefs, etc.) and
content development for diverse audiences. · Proven experience
in monitoring social media traffic and producing analytics reports. · Familiarity with
donor visibility requirements and advocacy communications. · Experience managing
social media and basic knowledge of web content management. · Skills in
photography, videography, and use of design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop,
InDesign) is an added advantage. · Strong
interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. · Excellent writing,
storytelling, and presentation skills. · Understanding of
development and humanitarian issues. · Creativity and
attention to detail. · Ability to work
both independently and as part of a team. · Strong organizational and time-management
skills. · Commitment to the
